What is the Optimum Workout?

The Optimum workout is based on circuit interval training that emphasizes strength training, cardio, and core training. The workout is segmented into four zones.  We have two strength training zones, one cardio zone, utilizing Row Machines or Assault Bikes, and one Core HIIT based functional fitness zone.

We encourage you to use your smart watch or activity tracker to give you the ability to view your heart rate percentage, calorie burn and more! This will, encourage you to do the best for your ability.

 

What to Expect from a Optimum workout

A calorie burner and major sweat-fest that’s based on shredding weight and building lean muscle. Like any workout, you get out of it what you put into it, but the Optimum workout is a wonderful fusion of heart-pumping cardio,  muscle-building strength training, and targeted core training.

Ideally this workout is about shredding weight and building lean muscle.

You’ll work in either one or four groups, depending on how many people are in class. The workout is split into four zones, so each segment is over fairly quickly.

 

Muscle Confusion

The workout changes every day. This is the best method to prevent adaptation, overtraining and burnout. The Optimum workout rotates the muscle groups that you emphasize so that you aren’t fully fatiguing the same muscles on consecutive days and can allow adequate rest. You can adjust and modify according to your specific needs.

 

For the strength portion we mainly use supersets that are completed in AMRAP (as many rounds as possible). This allows you to work at your own fitness level and not worry about competing with your neighbor.

On the row machine/assault bike  portion we use a pace of push/base for those that want to blast through the workout or push/rest for those that want to go a little slower, giving you the ability to adjust to your level.

The functional Core HIIT portion is also in AMRAP form which truly gives you the ability to work at your own pace, and adapt to your unique needs.

 

There’s a variety of exercises so you never get bored. The hour passes quickly and because the workout changes daily, you can keep your body guessing.
